Jackie Fitzgerald

is Executive Director at the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research.  Jackie has worked in crime and justice research long enough to see the number of Aboriginal people in NSW Prisons rise from around a thousand in 1998 up to 3,035 in 2020.  In recent years her work has focussed on government priorities to reduce domestic violence and reoffending, the increasing prison population and the intractable issue of Aboriginal over-representation in the justice system.
